Pa leo Kolawole Oladoye was born on the 12th of April, 1932 to the family of Late Pa Stephen Oladoye and Mama Emily Omolewa of Osorun Oju Oja’s Compound Otan Ayegbaju. Pa Oladoye was a devoted Catholic member. He was an alter boy in his youth, a confirmed catholical, a holy communist and one of the strong members of the Christ the King Society. He was once a clerk at a plank shield in Ife, employed by the Late Baba Amodo. His experience as a clerk encouraged him to be one of the successful transporter in his day He attended St Philips Primary School between 1938 and 1945 and obtained a standard six certificates. He further his education to Moromba College, Ile- Ife for his Grade III teaher Certificate. He later attended Provincial College Osogbo where he obtained his Grade II teacher Certificate He taught as a teacher at St Paul RCM Primary School Ikirun where he met his loving wife He was blessed with children. He taught in various primary schools and attained the highest rank in his profession, a class I headmaster and later retired in 1992 An erudite scholar who emptied his pocket into his brain where nobody can take it away from him promised heaven and earth to see to his children education through to University level, either at home or abroad. And he had really done so. Oju-Ajo, popularly called among his friends was proficient farmer and hunter. He is always in his excellent mood when called “Gbosa” He has chosen farming and hunting as his hobbies and he enjoyed doing them at all time. Papa had been self-contended and sustaining. To him, modest living and prudent management of resources plus indefatigable industry are his watchwords. He had accepted what he did for his children, all and sundry as God-ordained assignments, burden and duty. He had contributed all and demanded nothing – yes, nothing back in return. He lived to serve God in particular and humanity to totality. And had done so creditably. Papa will always say: “my children, “Bi o ba sun bi o ba ji ki o ranti omo eni ti iwo nse”. When you sleep and wake-up, always remember the son of whom you are. You have no cause to fear even if I die now, you surely have cause to rejoice for I am confident and doubly sure within me that the good Lord whom I have served and worshiped with unshakeable faith and who never sleeps nor slumbers will always continue to be your protector in all your endeavours He would shine his blessings on you with kind-hearted children. I am very most happy that you are my replica. So, I have no cause to fear or look back for the safe keeping of the house when I am gone. That has always be his regular statement. Great thinkers both spirituals and temporal, had from the ages stated that there is virtually no certainty in life!! The world is surrounded with so many mysteries, so much that the whole existence of man is in fluid. Nonetheless, two things are certain that man is born and that man will die This equally goes to Papa Leo on the 17th of February, 2012 when death quietly walked in and took him away We love you and will in no doubt miss you, but we know that God loves you best. May the Lord grant you eternal rest.
